Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

14-10b

This month we have 73 Consultants featuring the October Stamp of the Month, Home for the Holidays, a set of 7 stamps.  This stamp set is only available during the month of October.  Place an order of $50 and get the Stamp of the Month for just $5.

14-10a

If you have come here from Stefani Ewing’s Blog you are on the right path! If you get lost along the way you can find the complete list on Melinda’s Blog here.

I created a simple card for the make-n-take for my All-Day Crop this month.

SOM 10 Home for the Holidays (1)

I used Glacier Cardstock as my base and created my own piece of patterned paper with the candy image stamped in Cranberry ink and used the Chevron Border Punch along the bottom of that piece of paper.

The patterned paper is from the Snowhaven Paper Packet and I added a small strip of silver glitter paper from the Black & Grey Glitter Paper pack.

SOM 10 Home for the Holidays (2)

So I really wanted to use the postcard stamp with the polar bear.  (Side note, I just love to watch polar bears at the zoo, if I could own one I would.)  Now to really make the polar bear and this stamp stand out I stamped it 4 times.  That’s right, 4 times each in a different color, Whisper, Glacier, Black, Cranberry.

Since this image coordinates with the Art Philosophy cartridge I stamped it in Whisper ink on my Cricut cut so that I wouldn’t have to cut it out.  From the Glacier stamp cut out the large rectangle.  From the Black stamped image cut out just the polar bear being sure not to leave a black border around the image.  Then from the Cranberry image just cut out the scarf.  Then paper piece the images together.  So easy and a great look.

Now it is time to hop over to Jacquelin Green’s Blog to see what she has created!

July Card Club

I will be heading to Close To My Heart’s annual Convention in just a few days and I can’t wait.  I get to see friends from around the country (and Canada) that I haven’t seen in months and share ideas with other consultants.  It’s so much fun!

Before I leave I wanted to share with you the cards that we will be making at July’s Card Club.

Card Club 07 - Smaller

That’s right it’s Christmas in July.  This was such a big hit last year, so I’m doing it again.

If you are local to Amelia, VA I hope you will join us on either:

Thursday, July 24 at 6:30pm

or

Sunday, July 27 at 2pm

Cost is $25 to make 12 cards (3 each of the 4 designs)

(price includes all cards, envelopes, and embellishments)

If you don’t live near Amelia, VA I can put together a kit for you.  If you want me to stamp it for you add $5.  If shipping applies add $5.

So my obvious focus was Christmas, which was really hard to do since we don’t have any Christmas paper, embellishments, or new Christmas stamps right now.  So I had to get creative and I turned to the Cricut (and pinterest for inspiration).

Card Club 07 (4)

Isn’t that deer cut the coolest?  I cut it from our Green Glitter Paper (Z1847) and embossed the trees with our Damask (Z1927) and Quatrefoil Embossing Folders (Z1926).

Card Club 07 (2)

This card is one of my favorites.  I completely stole the design from a card on Pinterest and I can’t remember the name of the person, but you can find their original card on my Cards board on Pinterest.

Card Club 07 (3)

This card was so easy and so cute.  It’s just paper (cardstock and glitter paper of course), with some strategic cutting.  I love the embossing because it almost gives the effect of Santa's “fur” on his suit.  The stamp is from the Perfect Fit – Holidays (B1412) and it truly was a perfect fit! (yes, pun intended)

Card Club 07 (5)

This is probably my favorite card, which is ironic because it did not start out that way.  I knew I wanted to use the soon to be released July Stamp of the Month – Circus Alphabet (S1407).  Then when I found the diagonal stamp from the In The Background (D1540) stamp set and stamped it with Ruby Ink – perfection!

Email me to attend the workshop or purchase a kit.

Scrapbook Club–Timberline

Summer is here and that means camping, swimming, and all sorts of outdoor activities.  So you know you are going to have tons of pictures that need to be scrapbooked.  Well, July’s Scrapbook Club will feature the Timberline paper collection that will be perfect for these activities.

I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use on these pages.  A few years ago, my husband and I took a weekend trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway for our anniversary.  We stayed at the Peak’s of Otter Lodge and hiked Sharp Top Mountain.  That’s right hiked all the way up to the top and it just about killed me.  I knew just how out of shape I was when we got back to the bottom and I could hardly move later.  However, I will say that the view from the top was AMAZING!!!! (and yes, it was worth it).

Timberline Pages 1&2 - Smaller

As always, you can choose to buy the Workshop on the Go Kit which includes the stamp set and embellishments or get the paper and choose the embellishments you want to purchase.  The choice is up to you.

Timberline Pages 3&4 - Smaller

I used the embellishments that came in the Workshop on the Go Kit and created the pages mostly like CTMH did.  However, I did add the Topiary Mini Chevron Ribbon (Z1929), Durables Triangle Studs (Z1928), and Chocolate Woodgrain Washi Tape (Z1930) to the layouts.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Thursday, July 10 at 6:30pm

Sunday, July 13 at 2pm

Cost starts at just $25 and includes a full paper packet (you'll have leftovers) and 2 of the embellishments needed to complete the pages.
But, remember you choose how much you want to spend and purchase only the embellishments and tools that you want.

Register by Monday, June 23

If you can't make it to the workshop, simply purchase the Timberline Workshop On The Go Kit and I'll include my instructions for both layouts for free.

Mark you Calendar for upcoming Scrapbook Club Dates:

August 7 & 10

September 11 & 14

October 9 & 12

November 6 & 9

December 11 & 14

Thanks for stopping by.

June Card Club

Hello!  I can’t believe it’s June already and the sun is shining.  I am so excited for all of the summer activities and weekend getaways to come.

Today I wanted to share with you the cards that we will be making at this month’s Card Club.

Card Club 06 (1) - Smaller

If you are local to Amelia, VA I hope you will join us on either:

Thursday, June 19 at 6:30pm

or

Sunday, June 22 at 2pm

Cost is $25 to make 12 cards (3 each of the 4 designs)

(price includes all cards, envelopes, a full roll of the Honey Triangles Washi Tape, and embellishments)

If you don’t live near Amelia, VA I can put together a kit for you.  If you want me to stamp it for you add $5.  If shipping applies add $5.

For these cards I wanted to focus on our Mini Stamps and Washi Tape.  If you haven’t discovered our mini stamps yet click here to see all of the designs.  They are so affordable at just $2.95 each, and of course super cute.

Card Club 06 (2)

For this card I used the Newlyweds stamp (M1035), and colored the bumper with the Silver Metallics Marker.  You could also use the Baby Carriage stamp (M1027).

Card Club 06 (3)

I love the banner created with just washi tape and baker’s twine.

Card Club 06 (6)

I found this pattern on Pinterest and the Hi stamp (M1041) was a perfect fit. I colored the bottom of the

I have to give a big shout out to my dear friend and fellow consultant Gina Brandstetter for these last 2 cards.  I took her designs and just made them work for my class.

Card Club 06 (5)

How creative was she to take a Cricut cut star out of white cardstock and cover it with washi tape and then adhere it to the card so that it matches up with the other washi tape. Brilliant!

Card Club 06 (4)

These mini stamps are a perfect fit for the Circle Spin cards.  Here I used the Shooting Star stamp (M1038) and colored the center of the star with the Ruby marker and the Gold Metallics marker.

On the Good Job stamp (M1039) I simply took a Blending Pen and Ruby ink to add a little bit of color to the bottom of each letter.

Email me to attend the workshop or purchase a kit.

Dream Pop Card #4 featuring the Frame Flair stamp set

Only 2 days left to get your Dream Pop paper pack and they are almost gone.

Here is the 4th and final card for my June Monthly Card Club.

I have seen a lot of artwork with these sort of zig zag paper pieces and I knew this was a great paper pack to create it.  It's kind of hard to explain, but here it goes.
1-Cut a 3/4" strip of paper
2-Use the grid lines on your paper to trim the end at and angle.  Remember what lines used as a guide so that you can do that with each strip of paper.
3-Line up the angle that you cut with 1 1/2" and then trim the other end at a parallel angle.
4-Repeat as needed

I was able to use a lot of scraps including those from the first card that I shared 4 days ago featuring the "sun rays".

I embellished my card with the following:

The flowers are cut from the cardstock included in the Dream Pop paper pack using the Art Philosophy cartridge. The frame was cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge then stamped with the Frame Flair (D1546) and For Every Occasion (D1187) stamp sets.

You only have until May 31 to get your Dream Pop paper pack for just $10 when you place an order of $35.  That's a savings of $9.95.  Click here to start shopping.

To sweeten this deal even more I am offering a giveaway to everyone who purchases a Dream Pop paper pack.
For every pack of Dream Pop that you order you are entered into a drawing for one of the following:

  1. $40 worth of FREE product from me
  2. $40 toward a Workshop, Crop, or even my August Slumber Party Retreat

Dream Pop Card #1 featuring the Frame Flair stamp set

Have I mentioned that I am in love with the Dream Pop paper?  Well, today I have even more Dream Pop artwork to share with you.  This is one of the cards for my Monthly Card Club happening in June.

This was my first attempt at a Tri-Shutter card and it was actually much easier than I thought it would be.  Thanks to Janene Wawro for the instructions.  (You can also google "Tri-shutter Card" and there are videos and all sorts of tutorials available.)
Here are some simple instructions to follow:

  • Cut 5 ½ x 12 piece of cardstock
  • Place widthwise in paper trimmer, and SCORE at 2”, 4”, 8”, and 10”.
  • Turn lengthwise, and line the right edge of your paper at 1 ½”.  Lift your blade and cut between the 2” and 10” score lines only.  Turn your paper and repeat with the opposite side, lining up the edge of your paper again at 1 ½” and cutting between the 2” and 10” score line.
  • Fold along the four score lines, using "Mountain" and "Valley" folds, making sure to line up the paper edges as you fold, and making sharp creases as you go.  A bone folder works great.
  • Take the center section only, and fold the crease lines in the opposite direction.  Close the card and re-crease all of the folds.  The base of your card is now complete, and the finished size is 4 x 5 ½, just slightly smaller than a standard, invitation size card at 4 ¼ x 5 ½.

The flowers are cut from the cardstock included in the Dream Pop paper pack using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  If you aren't familiar with the Art Philosophy cartridge, it is the first Cricut cartridge that Close To My Heart introduced.  It has 700 images on it, comes with 3 stamp sets, and chipboard pieces.

The frame on the front of the card was also cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge then stamped with the Frame Flair (D1546) and Joyful Birthday (B1419) stamp sets.

I embellished my card with the following:

You only have until May 31 to get your Dream Pop paper pack for just $10 when you place an order of $35.  That's a savings of $9.95.  Click here to start shopping.

Easter Basket Card

I want to share with you a card that I made for my monthly Card Club that took place last week.

I got the idea for this from a card that I saw in Paper Crafts Magazine.

It was actually pretty easy to make.  Simply start with a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white card base.  Then cut 6 - 1/2" x 4 1/4" strips and 6 - 1/4" x 3" strips.

Then put 3-D Foam Tape along the left, bottom, and right sides of the card.  Do not go more than 3" up from the bottom of the card.  Only remove the adhesive backing from the left side.

Adhere all of the 1/2" strips to the foam tape on the left side.  Then simply weave the 1/4" strips through the 1/2" strips and adhere to the top strip.  Repeat until your basket is finish.  Remove the remaining adhesive backing and adhere your basket to the foam tape.

All of the eggs were stamped using the Easter Wishes Stamp Set (B1422).  The eggs can be cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and then stamped. I used the following ink colors: Buttercup, Lagoon, Cotton Candy, and Gypsy.

Hoppy Easter!!

And I created this for my June Cricut Art Philosophy class.  This page was designed by Joanne, another Close To My Heart consultant, I just changed some of the papers.

Did I mention that I just love these papers?  The patterns are so much fun and the dots coordinate with everything.

Spring Is in the Air in May

Each month I create a different type of project for my monthly Cricut Art Philosophy class. I was so inspired by this video that I just had to duplicate one of the projects for next month's class. Take a look.

So can you guess which project I liked the most?

That cute little box with the sentiment inside. Isn't it adorable?
And here's a picture with the box opened.

Join me as we create this adorable box and card on Saturday, May 5 at 9am and Saturday, May 12 at 10am. Here are 2 ways you can take the class and what it costs:
