Lucky 5 Studio J Special

November is Studio J's 5 year anniversary and we are celebrating with FIVE ways for you to WIN!

Why am I telling you this now? So you have PLENTY of time to create and prepare to take advantage of this great deal!! Here are the FIVE ways you can score big in November!

1 - First, throughout the month in November, all two-page layouts purchased in Studio J are only $5! That is a savings of over 25% off retail!

2 - Your second chance to win big must come by sheer luck: every fifth order placed in Studio J during November receives a FREE surprise Close To My Heart accessory in its shipping box! The accessory has a retail value of $5 or more! Of course!

3 - If luck doesn't smile on you in that way, you might stumble upon it by finding a little extra something in your Studio J box. Five "golden tickets" will be sent out during the month of November with randomly selected Studio J print orders. This "golden ticket" is redeemable for one of Close To My Heart's new D-ring albums loaded with 10 top load Memory Protectors!

4 - For a fourth way to win, simply create new, gorgeous layouts in Studio J, select your favorites, and then post pictures of them on Close To My Heart's Facebook page using the hashtag #ctmhlucky5. After November 30, five lucky winners will be selected from the entries based on their artistry and creativity and each of these winners will receive their own D-ring album loaded with 10 top load Memory Protectors!

5 - And there is one last way to win: take your new Studio J artwork and post a picture of it on Instagram using hashtag #ctmhlucky5. Just as it is with Facebook, after November 30, five lucky winners will be selected from the entries to receive their own D-ring album loaded with 10 top load Memory Protectors!

To make things even more exciting, starting November 1, five brand new kits from the Annual Inspirations Idea Book will be made available in Studio J, so you can create new artwork using the latest papers and embellishments from Close To My heart.

With so many ways to win, five may be your new lucky number!

Log in to Studio J and start creating today or contact me for a one-on-one tutorial.

Card Club–Snowhaven Card Kit

Hello!  I am back to share some more artwork with you, a lot of artwork.  Today’s post is all about the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshop On The Go Kit (G1085).

If you are local to the Chesterfield, VA area we would love for you to join us on Thursday, November 20 from 6:30-9:30pm for this Card Class. We will make 15 cards total (5 each of 3 designs) for only $25.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (1)

Pictured above are the 3 designs as created by Close To My Heart.  The Snowhaven Workshop On The Go Cardmaking Kit ($24.95) includes the following to create 15 cards in total:

Workshops on the Go® Snowhaven Cardmaking Kit Contents:
1 – My Acrylix™ Snowhaven Workshop Stamp Set (D-size)
2 – Snowhaven B&T Duos™ Papers
4 – Cardstock Sheets (1 Cranberry, 1 Glacier, 1 Whisper, 1 White Daisy)
15 – White Daisy Cards & Envelopes
1 – Red Enamel Hearts (Z2009)
1 – Silver Shimmer Trim (Z1799)
1 – Instructional Brochure

Here’s a closer look at each one.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (2)

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (3)Do you need a stamp set to caption a photo with those award-winning ugly sweaters?  Well, this is it.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (4)

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (5)

I think you could even give the above card to someone who has an early January Birthday.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (6)

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (7)

I love the trees stamped at the top of the card.  Another great stamp for making your own background.

Above is the stamp set that comes in the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshops on the Go Kit (G1085) $24.95. (Sorry, I know it’s not the best photo.)

So I wanted to give my customers some choices.  Some of them are really partial to Christmas Cards that state the actual words “Merry Christmas”.  So here is what I came up with.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (8)

I kept the same design of the cards I just used different stamp sets.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (11)

This sentiment comes from one of my favorite new stamp sets, Merriest Christmas (B1468).

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (12)

Ok, I know this one doesn’t say “Christmas”, but it was my last chance to use these polar bears.  How cute?  This is from Polar Bear Holiday (C1557).

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (9)

This card uses 2 stamp sets, Merriest Christmas (B1468) and Sing Glory (C1587).  Sing Glory is one of our new Hostess Only stamp sets that can be seen on page 7 of the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.  That means it is only available to Hostesses who hold a party (in person or online).  They can use their Hostess Rewards to purchase 1 of 10 stamp sets at a discount.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (10)

From the same Sing Glory (C1587) stamp set I created this card.  Love this angel and sentiment.

So now if that wasn’t enough, I took it a step further.  I have some customers that have already expressed a concern with doing 3 months of Christmas Cards (we made them in July and October as well).  Well, here are my non-Christmas creations.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (13)

These are probably some of my favorites.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (15)

This was the perfect sentiment to accompany all of the Red Enamel Hearts (Z2009) and the stamped heart image.  This sentiment is one of our new Mini stamps, Guiding Heart (M1046).

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (14)

Everyone needs Birthday cards and on this card I used the stamp set titled Lovely Birthday (B1462).  Also, in place of where all those trees were stamped I attached a piece of white cardstock that was embossed with our Dots Embossing Folder (Z1924).

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (16)

This card actually uses an older retired stamp set, sorry!  It was available for a short time as a Stamp of the Month.  I’ve still got some if you are interested, so contact me to purchase yours for $15.

So, there has to be something for you in this workshop and you too can make these cards.  Even if you aren’t local, I can put together a kit for you and mail it directly to you.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Cricut Artbooking Class – “10 Things” Layout

This is the last Cricut Artbooking Class for 2014.  It’s your last chance to get detailed instruction on using your Artbooking Collection.

Artbooking Class 11 (1) - Smaller

I found this layout as part of a YouTube video that CTMH created in their series “Artbooking Made Easy.”

Artbooking Class 11 (3)

I used paper from the following collections: Seaside, Chalk It Up, and the Paper Fundamentals.  I also embellished the layout with the Green & Blue Epoxy Bubbles (Z1806).

Artbooking Class 11 (2)

I used 3 stamp sets: Happy Hexagons (C1596), All The Details (D1555), and Oodles of Doodles (B1449).  The Happy Hexagons stamp set is only available to Hostesses as part of their Hostess Rewards (or to my Club Members).

The other 2 stamp sets have images that coordinate with 2 of other Cricut cartridges, therefor they will not retire.

You can create this page by joining me at my next Cricut Class, Saturday, November 15 at 9am in my studio in Amelia, VA.

Cost is $10 if you own the Artbooking cartridge. Simply bring your Cricut, Artbooking Cartridge Bundle, and I'll supply the rest and walk you through the cuts.

Cost is $20 if you don't own the Artbooking cartridge, because I'll cut all of your pieces for you ahead of time.

Leave a comment or contact me to attend.

Scrapbook Club–Yuletide Carol

I can’t believe I am making Christmas cards and layouts already.  This year I am using 1 paper collection for all of my classes.  So that means we are already making Christmas layouts using the Yuletide Carol paper collection.

Yuletide Carol Pgs 1&2 - Smaller

I simply followed the instructions included in the Workshops on the Go Kit, but made a few changes of my own.

Yuletide Carol (1)

I eliminated 2 of the Cricut Artbooking cuts and added the My Crush Holiday Happenings Assortment (not included in the kit).

Yuletide Carol (2)

These layouts feature a lot of paper piecing with the stamped images.  Meaning that you stamp the image in 2 different colors and trim out various pieces of each image to adhere one another.

Yuletide Carol Pgs 3&4 - Smaller

This “peace on earth” image along with the pine bough images makes for a really nice title.

Yuletide Carol (4)

Yuletide Carol (5)

As always, you can choose to buy the Yuletide Carol Workshop on the Go Kit which includes the stamp set and embellishments or just get the paper and choose what embellishments you want to purchase.  The choice is up to you.

I used the embellishments that came in the Workshop on the Go Kit and added the My Crush Holiday Happenings Assortment.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Thursday, November 6 at 6:30pm

Sunday, November 9 at 2pm

Cost starts at just $25 and includes a full paper packet (you'll have leftovers) and 2 of the embellishments needed to complete the pages.
But, remember you choose how much you want to spend and purchase only the embellishments and tools that you want.

Register by Wednesday, October 22

If you can't make it to the workshop, simply purchase the Yuletide Carol Workshop On The Go Kit and I'll include my instructions for both layouts for free.

ShinHan Touch Twin Marker Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  Today I am participating in another Blog Hop, this time featuring the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  We have 42 consultants participating in this hop.

ShinHan Marker blog hop final 500

If you have come here from Brenda Lapp’s Blog you are on the right path.

I chose to share a layout that uses the Paper Fundamentals paper packs, Great Job stamp set, and ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

CTMH Paper Fundamentals and ShinHan Markers

I prefer to stamp my images with the Black Mini Pigment Pad and allow it to dry before coloring with the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

CTMH Paper Fundamentals and ShinHan Markers 01 I colored my images with the Turquoise Blue B68 (Z2465), Leaf Green GY234 (Z2454), and Tender Pink RP198 (Z2464) markers.  Then I went over the solid areas with the Colorless Blender Marker (Z2469).  The colorless blender acts more like an “eraser” than anything.  It sort of “moves” the ink.  In my case allowing for variations in the solid areas.

To continue on with the hop head over to Maria Myers’ Blog next.  If you would like to see more of this layout with other colors continue reading.

This layout was the make-n-take for my recent weekend retreat.  I allowed customers to choose their own colors of paper from the Paper Fundamentals assortments which comes in all 4 color assortments; Basic, Whimsy, Enchantment, and Adventure.  Here is what they came up with.

It was really neat to see how different everyone’s turned out. I have to say that I was so proud of myself for this idea.  It was a huge hit.
