August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop
If you have come here from Pam Jarrett‘s Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here.
This is the 2nd project that I created for my upcoming Cricut Artiste Class.
I used the cut on page 67 of the Cricut Artiste cartridge booklet. I simply cut the “envelope” from Ruby Cardstock at 5 1/2” and the center label from Buttercup Cardstock at the same size. To “back” the label I cut the same image from the Chantilly paper at 6 1/2”.
Cut a small slit at the top of the “envelope” and thread a piece of ribbon through it. Then insert your candy bar and tie the ribbon in a bow at the top. The candy bar will now slide in and out of the envelope easily. Piece of cake – I mean chocolate.
I used the various sentiments from the stamp set to create a border along the top and bottom of my “envelope”. Of course you want to do this before you adhere it together and insert the candy bar. Then just embellish with a few gems from the Pink Glitter Gems assortment.
Remember, the August SOTM is only available until August 31, 2013 and the best part is that this month you can get it FREE! With just a minimum purchase of $50 you can get this stamp set absolutely FREE! Contact your CTMH Consultant or click here to get yours!
Now "Hop" on over to Jean McNulty's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all of the Consultant’s Blogs to get some great crafting ideas!

Take-out Box from the Artiste Cartridge
Hello! So today I am sharing the first of 3 projects from my upcoming Cricut Artiste Class. I hold this class each month and we create different projects using our Cricuts and the Artiste Cartridge Bundle. If you live near Amelia, VA you can join us for the class on Sunday, August 11 at 10am in my Studio. The cost of the class is as follows:
- $10 if you own the Artiste Cartridge Bundle; bring your Cricut and cartridge and we will walk through the cuts together
- $20 if you do NOT own the Artiste Cartridge Bundle; I will cut all of your paper ahead of time
Email me to register for this class.
If you are not local you can purchase a kit that will include all products needed to create this project. I will include the link to purchase your kit after I share all of the projects.
The first project is a Take-out Box.
I cut the box from the Chantilly Paper Pack. This box is so easy to assemble because it doesn’t require any adhesive. I just love that.
The bow was cut from Ruby and Buttercup Cardstock along with the tag. I used the stamp set, 4 My Friend, to stamp my sentiment in Slate Pigment ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.
I added a strip of Blush cardstock and Silver Shimmer Trim (I LOVE this stuff) and it’s done.
I created one box for each of my team members attending Convention this year. I filled each box with some goodies they would need for Convention.
Well, thanks for stopping by and you are DEFINITELY going to want to come back tomorrow. I am participating in a Consultant Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for the first time. YEAH!! I used the new August Stamp of the Month for my 2nd project for this class. Plus you can “hop” your way around to see all types of artwork created using the August Stamp of the Month, A Chocolate Affair.

Canvas Journal
Today I am sharing another great product that will be retiring at the end of this month – the My Creations Canvas Journal (Z1774).
The journal has 80 lined 7”x5” pages with a clean Colonial White canvas cover that can be decorated any way that you want.
I give one to each of my music students who have been taking lessons with me for at least 1 year. I use it to write their lesson notes and practice log in each week. I used our Mini Pigment Ink Pads to stamp the cover and the spine. (That’s my favorite part.)
This journal was created by a fellow consultant, Jennifer Kramer. A simple stamped sentiment and the Opaques Pearl Flourishes.
Here’s another one created by another fellow consultant, Cherri Hardcastle. She covered it with Cricut cut flowers, Stickease, and Sparkles.
This one was created by Tresa Black, an amazing artist and fellow consultant.
Here she used the Mini Pigment Pad Sets to sponge the 2 colors on the cover of the My Creations Canvas Journal. (This is one of my favorites.)
Remember that the My Creations Canvas Journal is retiring at the end of July (or while supplies last) so get yours before it’s gone. Simply click here to order yours today.

Kit of the Month - Surf's Up - 2nd Layout
This is the additional layout also created by CTMH for the Surf’s Up Workshop On The Go kit. This kit includes easy to follow instructions that show you exactly what dimensions to cut your paper, how to stamp the images, and the placement of all elements on the layout. (Remember this kit is retiring at the end of this month and might sell out early so get yours before they are gone.)
This Workshop On The Go Kit includes a Surf’s Up Level 2 Paper Pack, an exclusive stamp set, the Surf’s Up Assortment and the Sparkles Clear Assortment.
You will also need the 2” Scalloped Circle Punch to create the “sun” element on page 2. (This punch retires at the end of this month so get it before it’s gone.)
I added some of the Paradise Baker’s Twine Assortment wrapped around some of the embellishments.
There are 2 ways that you can also make these pages.

Kit of the Month – Surf’s Up - 1st Layout
So anyway, today I am sharing the first layout that I created with the Surf’s Up layout.
This is the layout created by CTMH for the Surf’s Up Workshop On The Go kit.
I changed the size of the photo on the left page to 4x6 because I wanted it to be larger and I added a Flip Flap so that I could add 2 more photos to the page.
Flip Flaps are SOOO easy to use. They have adhesive on a small flap and you can adhere them directly to your page or to the outside of the page protector.
There are 2 ways that you can also make these pages.

Show Your Patriotism - Stamper's With An Attitude Blog Hop
First, I have to say that I am so EXCITED because this is my very first blog hop. For the theme of "Show your Patriotism" I wanted to use our limited time only "Let's Get Patriotic" stamp sets. I used the stamp set Courage (available only until the end of this month).
I created a very simple card because I wanted the stamped images to be the focal point. So I kept the embellishments and paper to a minimum.
The card is 4x4 with a White Base. I stamped the soldier in Cashmere Ink and the sentiment in Outdoor Denim Ink. The paper is from the Tommy Paper Packet and I added just 2 of the Artisan Durable Studs.
Now hop on over to Melinda Everitt's blog as she shows you her patriotism.
Thanks for stopping by. (Please leave a comment and let me know how I did on my first blog hop.)

Background Stamps
I love the stamp set In The Background (D1540) that Monica used in the video. (I actually have 3 in stock so if you are local let me know and I'll save you some money on shipping.)
Here are some cards that I created using this stamp set. (The circle cards were designed by Karen Pederson and the "Home Sweet Home" card was designed by Close To My Heart.)

Dress Card using the Artiste cartridge and Chantilly Textiles
I can't take credit for designing this card. I "scrap lifted" it from another CTMH Consultant, Julie Reynolds. Thanks Julie for the inspiration!
This card is so easy to make. All images are cut from the Artiste cartridge; the dress form, the dress, and the oval. I cut the dress form out of Cashmere cardstock, then sponged the bottom of it with Black ink. The dress was cut from White cardstock and I cut off the skirt part.
Then I used a small rectangle piece of the pink fabric from the Chantilly Textiles as the skirt. I used a small piece of Scor-Tape to "hem" each edge so that it had a nice rounded finish. Then just wrapped it around the cardstock to be the skirt of the dress. I finished it off with a small strip of the Black Shimmer Trim (love this stuff - head's up we have 2 new colors coming out in the Autumn/Winter Idea Book)
If you are local to Amelia, VA and want to take my Cricut Class, here are the details.
Saturday, July 27th from 9-11am
Cost is $10 if you own the Artiste cartridge
Cost is $20 if you don't own the Artiste cartridge and I will cut all of your papers ahead of time
If you aren't local I can put together a kit for you. Just add $5 the cost of either of the above options that apply to you.
This class is almost full so register now to attend.

"Good Times" Layout featuring the Hello Blooms stamp set
This is a layout that I created for my July Cricut Class (Sat. July 27th at 9am). I really wanted to use the new Hello Blooms stamp set (C1540).
I really liked the flowers and especially that they can all be cut using the Artiste cartridge, and of course the bird is just so cute. I cut a bunch of flowers out of white cardstock and stamped them in various colors. And of course, I popped some of them up with 3-D Foam Tape.
I also really wanted to use our new Chantilly Textiles on the page. I was going to try cutting them on the cricut, but I could figure out how to incorporate that on my page. So instead I used it as a "skirt" at the bottom of the page.
I just laid down a strip of 1/2" Scor-Tape, then starting at one end I just stuck the fabric to it "pleating/gathering" as I went. On top of the fabric is a 1/2" strip of Brown Glitter Paper that I adhered with 3-D Foam Tape.
The Brown/Tan Glitter Paper has been a lot of fun to work with. You get 1 - 12"x12" sheet of 3 different shades in a pack. (I've got more artwork with the glitter paper that I will be posting over the next few days.)
As I was finishing up the page, I felt that it needed just one more thing.
So I added some pinwheels and a ribbon slide.
If you are local to Amelia, VA and want to take my Cricut Class, here are the details.
Saturday, July 27th from 9-11am
Cost is $10 if you own the Artiste cartridge
Cost is $20 if you don't own the Artiste cartridge and I will cut all of your papers ahead of time
This class is almost full so register now to attend.
Thanks for stopping by. Tomorrow I am sharing the card that we will also make at this class.

July Stamp of the Month - Sweet Life
So today I'm sharing what we created yesterday using the July Stamp of the Month, Sweet Life. This stamp set is ONLY available during the month of July.
I used the Alcohol Markers (Ruby Marker Set, Sweet Leaf Marker Set, and Alcohol Blending Marker) to color the fruit on my card. I just love using the alcohol markers. They are very forgiving and you can continue to go over them until you get the look you want.
(PS- I had to use our old markers for the branch, because we don't currently have a brown available in our alcohol markers. I used our old Desert Sand marker on the branch and it was much darker than I wanted it to be so I used the Blending Pen to try and lighten it up. Then for the fruit stems I used the Blending Pen and the Desert Sand Ink Pad. That's why the 2 look very different.)
Here are the rest of the products I used:
5 1/2" x 4 1/4" White Cards & Envelopes, Value Pack (X254)
Dakota Paper Pack (unfortunately already retired)
Sweet Leaf Cardstock
Ruby Cardstock & Ink Pad
Cocoa Mini Pigment Ink (Z2503)
Silver Shimmer Trim (Z1799)
Slate Polka Dot Washi Tape (Z1817)
Pink Glitter Gems (Z1807)
